Home Movies are pirate movies, fan movies, love letters and fantasy exhibitions.
Home Movies are a series of short films made with the iMovie programme that is provided with Apple computers. The programme provides basic movie making tools, editing, special effects etc. designed for holiday and family home movies. The “Home Movies” in question though have been made with images of other artists works, which are lifted from the Internet. These images are usually used for publicity and advertising purposes. Each movie relates to a song and the song determines the mood of the story and the length of it.
As in most cases the actors or participants in these films are images of artworks or artists, the films themselves, therefore, also become kinds of exhibitions, and fantasy collections, addressing the idea of a new exhibition structure. This structure proposes new ways of presentation, interpretation and contexts.
Home Movies are always shown alone as individual exhibitions.
